Rarotonga, Cook Islands, 1 December 2023 - The Joint Intelligence Group (JIG) was activated in November 2023 to support the security coordination for the Cook Islands hosting of the 52nd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM52). JIG was supported by the New Zealand Transnational Crime Unit (NZTCU) and was a collaboration of border agency representatives providing regular intelligence reporting on relevant matters for the duration of the PIFLM52.

Te Kauono Tutara e Te Mana Tiaki – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration (MFAI) continues to roll out its awareness campaign for immigration clients, interest groups, and the general public to support migration of visa and permit processes to the new Immigration regulations approved by Cabinet on 18 April.
