Finance and Administration Officer

In this role, you will contribute to the successful operation of the Ministry by providing efficient and effective financial and administrative support within the Capability and Service Delivery team. Key responsibilities are implementing financial and administrative procedures and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and computer skills, and have good attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications in finance or administration.

Principal Immigration Officer
Department: Immigration Date: 28-Sep-23 Location: Rarotonga
As Principal Immigration Officer (PIO), you will be responsible for ensuring the Immigration Division effectively carries out its statutory functions under the Cook Islands Immigration Act 2021 and Regulations. The Principal Immigration Officer will ensure the Immigration service supports economic and social prosperity and safeguards the security of the Cook Islands through the implementation of innovative practices.
In this role, you will lead and contribute towards a positive team culture that enables high performance and manage all aspects of the work of the Immigration Division. You will inform immigration policy, legislation, and regulations through extensive research and provide advice and recommendations on immigration matters. The PIO must establish and maintain effective relationships with all relevant stakeholders and ensure effective monitoring, reporting, and planning is carried out across the Division.
To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications and experience in relevant law and social development fields, detailed knowledge of the Cook Islands context and a sound understanding of government machinery, mechanisms and processes.
