Finance and Administration Officer

In this role, you will contribute to the successful operation of the Ministry by providing efficient and effective financial and administrative support within the Capability and Service Delivery team. Key responsibilities are implementing financial and administrative procedures and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and computer skills, and have good attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications in finance or administration.

Immigration Operations Manager

Department: Immigration       Date: 22-Nov-23       Location: Rarotonga

As Immigration Operations Manager (IOM), you will be responsible for the effective daily operation of the Immigration team. This includes ensuring the application of and adherence to immigration legislation and policy. Reporting to the Principal Immigration Officer (PIO), you will ensure consistency between standard operating procedures, legislation, and policy.

The Immigration Operations Manager is responsible for the management of the team and oversees case management. You will ensure effective monitoring of persons of interest and minimise risk to ensure the safety and security at the border. The IOM provides relevant and timely advice and recommendations to the PIO.

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in law, compliance and/or management. A detailed knowledge of the Cook Islands context and immigration laws is an advantage.

Communications Advisor

Department: Communications       Date: 5-Dec-23       Location: Rarotonga

In this role, you will provide leadership and management of communications for the Ministry. This position supports both internal and external media and communication needs, and provides leadership and direction on the development and delivery of high quality communications services.

The Communications Advisor ensures consistent development and implementation of comprehensive communications plans and strategies, and the provision of high-level communications advice and support across the Ministry.

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant experience and qualifications in Communications, Media, Journalism or other relevant field. Demonstrated experience in leading communication and media projects, utilising multiple communication channels, and a good understanding of the Cook Islands Foreign Affairs and Immigration context would be advantageous.
