About our overseas network
MFAI’s overseas network represents the Cook Islands, builds international relationships and helps connect Cook Islanders abroad with home. Our missions are part of a small diplomatic service, led from the Ministry’s headquarters in Rarotonga.
Where we are represented
The network includes High Commissions in Wellington and Suva, and an office in Auckland. The Cook Islands also has diplomatic representation to UNESCO in Paris and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London.
These connections help advance the Cook Islands’ interests in international discussions and sustain relationships with other governments and organisations. Our work with Cook Islanders abroad also supports cultural exchange, the sharing of skills and knowledge, and participation in national development.
