High Commission — Fiji

The High Commission represents the Cook Islands Government in Fiji and is our main presence at the centre of Pacific regionalism. Suva hosts the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, key regional organisations, United Nations agencies and many diplomatic missions. This makes the post a vital link between the Cook Islands and the regional and international partners based there.

What we do

• Bilateral relations: strengthen the Cook Islands relationship with the Government of Fiji.
• Regional engagement: represent Cook Islands interests with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, the Pacific Community (SPC), the University of the South Pacific and other regional organisations based in Suva, and support Cook Islands participation in regional meetings.
• Multilateral and diplomatic network: maintain relationships with United Nations agencies and diplomatic missions in Suva, many of which also cover the Cook Islands, and support their engagement with the Cook Islands Government.
• Support for Cook Islanders in Fiji: provide information and support to Cook Islands students, officials and visitors in Fiji.
